Halloween is the most stupendous day of the year. If celebrating doesn’t call for corn syrup, I don’t want to do it.

If you haven’t fed everyone under the age of eight a disturbing amount of sugar, there’s something horribly, horribly wrong.

Please suspend the discussion of dog abuse while we all chase terrified terriers around, yelling “sit still goddammit, so I can put this candy corn hat on your stupid head.”

This year, I went as a weird Pac-Man game thing on Saturday. I don’t know where it came from or why, but I had cherries on my head and happiness in my heart.

Today is the actual day. It’s HALLOWEEN! My costume tonight is basically Thomas Shelby from Peaky Blinders … with some David Bowie-level eye makeup. Naturally.

Meanwhile, this is still a travel blog. In the name of that situation … here’s to the most Halloween-y of all places on the planet : The Necropolis

If you ever get a chance to go to Glasgow, Scotland, take an hour to visit. It’s a Victorian cemetery, established in 1832. Today, there are more than 3,500 monuments, grave markers and mausoleums there. It’s spooky at 8am. I cannot imagine it after dark. And, like all cemeteries … there’s a weird light, a quiet and strange energy, and a moment to one’s self that’s somehow shared with all eternity.

Here’s a quick photo tour.

I want to wish you all the merriest, most mischievous of 31st’s, friends. I can hear kids down in the street screaming, so I’m off to shower and hurl Snickers bars at them.
