ART IN BLOOM IS … an annual spring event at the New Orleans Museum of Art. Florists, creatives, and gardeners are invited to build arrangements inspired by the permanent exhibits in the museum. Some even celebrate the architecture of the NOMA building itself.

THIS YEAR’S THEME WAS … Paradise Under the Palms, celebrating our tropical little slice of America.

TICKETS ARE … $20 and the money goes back to supporting the museum.

SADLY … it’s now closed, but mark it on your calendar for next March!

LIKE PHOTOGRAPHING FLOWERS? … Here are my own photographs from this year’s Art in Bloom, using a LensBaby Twist60 lens.

LensBaby make incredible manual lenses for both Canon and Nikon. Each has a particular style. I love the Twist, because it not only gives you a bygone softness, it also will spin the background, if you space the depth of field properly. You can purchase the Twist60 here.
